The term 'Bokeh' comes from the Japanese word meaning 'fuzziness or dizziness', which completely sums up what Bokeh is, 'out-of-focus' points of light.
Bokeh is different from sharpness, sharpness is what happens at point of best focus, Bokeh is what happens away from the best point of focus. Blurred, out of focus, fuzzy and creative images.
Differing amounts of spherical aberration, alter how lenses render out-of-focus points of light, and then there is Bokeh. Enjoy

Katie Eleanor
These images were taken at Speldhurst Church with my friend Emily Harris, also a student photographer. The model in these set of images is Katie Eleanor, she is also a student photographer, and model, she specialises in look-book vintage photography, she is a beautiful subject to work upon and is a very good photographer herself.
For these set of images I wanted to capture a natural vintage feel, so who better to use than Katie, a vintage fanatic who specialises in this kind of thing. This oppurtunity open a door into modelling photography for me, and was a great experience. Its so much easier aswell when you have a 'photogenic, beautiful' subject aswell.
These pictures were taken on May 19th 2011, with a Nikon D90. Enjoy.

Bill Brandt Study
These pictures are under the inspiration of one of my favourite photographers, Bill Brandt, he photographed nude women and distorted landscapes, he is a British Photographer and Photo Journalist.
I love his work because of the angles he uses in his pictures to distort the subject in the frame, this makes the audience think about the image, the shadows that are used, and the dark contrasts are the main factor in these images, Bill Brandt is known for contrasted, shadowed nudes and landscapes.
These images were taken on February 18th 2011, using a Canon EOS 20D.
Studio lighting used. -Model- Maya Hollands-
